Eco & Extras - with a touch of luxury

We aim to go that little extra mile for our guests, and always welcome feedback and suggestions. This is what we have created for you so far - our Special Guest Services with lovely luxuries, and a centre that is truly green, so that you can relax and enjoy your time here knowing that the environment has been cared for too - see Eco Living.

Special guest services

Our guest services extension includes our steam shower room, additional loo, washbasins with mirrors and heated towel rail, a catering kitchen, laundry and drying room. It is available to self-catering cottage guests and those sleeping in the Summerhouse or Tipi or camping.

This luxury steam shower has it’s own seat for you to fully relax on, a heated towel rail to keep you and your towel toasty warm, large mirror, hooks for your clothes, and a chair to relax in. It also has dimmable lighting and an iPod player and speakers for you to create the mood you want. Why not treat yourself?

This oak and granite kitchen is available for self-catering holiday cottage guests wanting to cook up a storm for a large number of people. It is also the kitchen in which groups can do their self-catering, while eating in the large traditional farmhouse kitchen (which takes 20 around the table), or where local Tyddyn Retreat cooks can do catering for you. The fully fitted kitchen includes a large fan oven, 5 burner gas hob, microwave, specialist slicers and dicers etc, and a dish washer.

Our laundry is equipped with washing machines, tumble dryer, two basins, and an iron and ironing board. We also have an outdoor airer for those beautiful drying days, and a traditional pulley airer under our open barn – it’s a more eco way to go.

The small drying room includes places for your coats and boots to dry out if you get caught in the occasional rain ! A heater will speed up the process and soon have you ready to return to your walking or cycling.

Other extras

When you come to stay with us, we want to make sure you feel comfortable, at home and relaxed. Here are a few of the ways we do this. Let us know if you think of something else !

Wifi is available in all spaces. We also happy to help with printing and other office needs. Reception for most mobile networks is good.

Disabled access: the Lower Barn has been expressly designed with wheelchair guests in mind. The other facilities are also accessible – sometimes with assistance. Where appropriate, we are also happy to give people rides around the land on our sit-on mower or quad bike – Romy’s father’s favourite mode of transport! Here is our Access Statement (click) (TO DO)

Welcome pack: we are happy to provide some fundamentals for your arrival – Welsh milk and butter and local bread, eggs, bacon and jams. Please click here for more on this and let us know if you have any particular requests.

Massage and alternative therapies can be arranged at Tyddyn Retreat or nearby, with a range of wonderful practioners, all known to us. We're happy to help you choose the best experience for you.

Cycle storage: we have a lockable under-cover bike rack. You are welcome to leave your bike here if you go off for walks or other days out instead of cycling. We also have some bikes that you are welcome to borrow.

Dog friendly: we adore all animals and want to welcome your four-legged friends as often as possible. As we are surrounded by our neighbours’ sheep, we need to care for them as well, so dog guests need to be on a lead when walking near the sheep and lambs. Well-behaved dogs can be brilliant guests, with their own beds and towels for muddy feet – please call us for arrangements, including a small charge.

Horse stabling: our Open Barn will soon be available for stabling your horse over night, and we are creating trail links to friends in riding centres such as The Brandy House, in order to expand the range of riding adventures available in the area.
