Our traditional, 250 year old farmhouse is a favourite with many guests. Beams, exposed stone, slate floors, polished wood floors, and lots of beautiful light greet you here. With the windows slightly open at night, the sound of the stream can 'sing' you to sleep - if you're not captivated by the starry sky instead!

With larger groups coming to Tyddyn Retreat for family gatherings or workshops for example, our Farmhouse becomes the meeting place for meals and relaxing together - in addition to cinema or other gathering time in our Tractor Barn workshop space.

The traditional farmhouse kitchen is the dining room - with space for up to 25 people to enjoy eating together cozily around the long table, perhaps with candlelight. Our full granite and oak contemporary kitchen, with all mod cons, is next to the dining room. Fan oven, 5 gas hobs, fridge-freezer, blenders, dish washers and a whole array of other gizmos in addition to the usual cooking items, such as pots and pans, knives, chopping boards etc etc.

For a great night's sleep, you can enjoy our three double bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, and the potential to use our delicious beamed Sitting Room as an additional bedroom. In total, you can sleep 10, or 12 people in:

  • The Double En-suite room
  • The Kingsize - with huge super-kingsize bed
  • The Double
  • The beamed Sitting Room (if needed)

In addition to the beds in these rooms, you can add 1 or 2 single futons or foldaways to the Kingsize and Double rooms.

The beamed Sitting Room, has a huge inglenook fireplace with a Franklin Stove, which creates the largest possible open fire without using an open grate - perfect for evenings snuggling together, reading or conversations with friends. The dining room has a woodburner, which adds similar coziness to the atmosphere there.

The Guest Services Suite on the back of the Farmhouse, includes our Steam Shower, additional loo, and laundry. This is where Romy, the owner needs to come, to use the toilet and shower, while staying in the Summerhouse, when guests are enjoying the Farmhosue. You can easily lock the rest of the Farmhouse from this area if you would like to, for additional privacy. Very occasionally, Romy needs to pop in to her study in the Farmhouse: she will only do this as & when convenient with guests.

As in other areas of Tyddyn Retreat's land, there is outoor seating just in front of the Farmhouse - a place to enjoy soaking up the view, or taking in some bird watching - there are SO many! There are two outside dining tables & plenty of chairs & benches, plus other outdoor sofas and relaxing chairs.
