The Upper Barn
In this cottage you can look forward to tall beamed ceilings, traditional lime plaster walls, exposed stone, oak floors windows and doors, and a space flooded with light. With the special eco lighting panels you can create a mood for every moment in the evenings, while enjoying the comfy seating around a large roaring log burner in the fireplace.
The extraordinarily comfortable large futon sofabed comes highly recommended – relaxing in the day and a great sleep at night. Romy, Tyddyn Retreat’s owner regularly sleeps on the same model in the Summerhouse!

Sleeping well
To ensure you get a great night’s sleep, all our mattresses are luxury pocket sprung, and most have an organic cotton cover. Each bed is provided with both a down pillow and hypoallergenic one: please do let us know if you would like to change either of them. Likewise, we offer a mix of duck down and hypoallergenic duvets – whichever you prefer.
Being warm & cozy
Underfloor heating, run by eco ground source heat, will keep you toasty in the cooler months, while the wood burner can add to the cozy feel for those nights in around the fire. Perhaps you might like to snuggle up in one of our delicious throws of recycled Welsh wool – they make a great gift too!
